The Walnut Vase Urn is a two-part memorial made to feel at home in your home. The solid walnut base holds a quiet, dignified chamber for ashes. On top sits a light paulownia section in a gentle trapezoid shape, with an inner space for a small plant or fresh stems. Together, it reads as a simple vase—natural on a shelf, sideboard or windowsill—while keeping your loved one close.
Both parts are precisely cut, joined and hand-finished. After dozens of rounds of shaping and sanding, the edges are soft and the surface has a calm, satin touch. It looks warm, feels reassuring, and blends effortlessly with everyday living.

Design Inspiration

Our idea for this vase came straight from everyday life. We wanted to create an urn that could sit naturally in any corner of the home—quiet, familiar, and easy to live with. A vase felt like the right direction, as it’s something you can place anywhere. But traditional vases don’t store anything, so we explored a layered design that could do both.

We also didn’t want it to feel stiff or boxy. After looking through countless references, we settled on a gentle trapezoid shape. It stands out in a subtle way—the soft, sloping sides, the rounded edges, nothing harsh or fussy. It looks calm, feels smooth to the touch, and blends effortlessly with your furniture, inviting a second glance without trying too hard. It’s a piece that belongs at home—thoughtful, warm, and quietly beautiful.
